Heather Vance

My name is Heather.
I have had epilepsy since age 5 and have been living with it for 60 years now, My mother was a true believer in supporting me in what ever I did she had epilepsy as a child. My family is very supportive of me too.
I love helping others and doing education on making people aware what epilepsy. I am very passionate about epilepsy education and awareness for people with epilepsy I have been with the Epilepsy Association of the Maritimes for 42 years now. I have raised a lot of money for them doing things like the Bluenose Marathon and purple hikes. I also volunteer in the office as well as do other things if needed like sitting at craft shows to sell tickets etc.
I received the Cassidy Megan Award in 2019. I also won The Duke of Edinburgh Awards. Gold Recipient from. HRH His royal highness. Prince Phillip Duke of Edinburgh Which is for volunteer service in the community
My hobbies are volunteering to help people, wreath making, decorating, crafts, painting and some sports like walking and swimming and much more, also being with friends
