Feature Stories - Tell Your Story

Share your story

Sharing your story is vital because it breaks the silence, fostering empathy and connection while validating the experiences of others. By offering hope, empowerment, and challenging stigma, personal narratives inspire change and remind individuals that they are not alone in their struggles. It’s an act of courage that not only honors your journey but also reaches out a hand to those walking a similar path, showing them they matter and their stories have power.

People who know me, say I’m personable and goal-oriented. I always look at the positive things in life and embrace challenges with a smile.

I’m 35 years old and have been living with Epilepsy since I was 3. When I was younger my epilepsy was a constant challenge to learning in school and living a normal child’s life. I was often forced to sit on the sidelines and was not able to participate in many activities with my friends and family.

Heather Vance
